Recently, I’ve been pondering what it will be like to truly interact with Jesus in heaven, and the closest picture I could imagine was the feeling of sitting around a fire with good company.
Recently, I attended a girls’ conference where I was reunited with some dear friends from college, and the entire time, I was giddy with joy—I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. Afterward, I was texting one of those friends, and something she said really stuck with me. She told me, “I’m trying really hard to sear your company into my brain.” I felt the exact same way. This got me thinking about the idea of good company, and I couldn’t help but imagine that being with Jesus would feel like being in the best kind of company—like the kind you enjoy around a campfire at night, singing songs. The warm, peaceful presence that makes you want to sear their company into your heart and mind.
